Herb Roasted Pork: Herb-rubbed roasted pork loin with a sweet, tangy glaze
INGREDIENTS:
1 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 (5 pound) boneless pork loin
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
In a bowl, combine sage, salt, pepper, and garlic. Rub thoroughly all over pork. Place pork in an uncovered roasting pan on the middle oven rack.
Bake in the preheated oven approximately 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches at least 150 degrees F (65 degrees C), depending upon your desired doneness.
Meanwhile, place sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, water, and soy sauce in a small saucepan. Heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture begins to bubble and thicken slightly. Brush roast with glaze 3 or 4 times during the last 1/2 hour of cooking. Pour remaining glaze over roast, and serve.

Get a pork roast, put it in a deep baking pan. Add one beer, anything that you like. (Some of the German beers work really well, Guiness is great, domestics are okay.) Roughly Chop a small onion, carrots, potatoes, Butter, Salt and Pepper (If you want to substitute Salt with Alpine Touch that tastes great), Some mustard or horseradish. Bake at 350/375 until done enough for your tastes. keep an eye on it. If it starts to dry out spoon some broth all over the top of it. When done, make a gravy of the dripping after removing the meat and veggies. It's great!

THIS IS WHAT I DO. SPREAD A BIT OF OLIVE OIL ALL OVER THE ROAST, RUB A MIXTURE OF SPICES ON ROAST. I USE GARLIC, CUMIN, CAJUN SPICE, PAPRIKA, BLACK PEPPER, CHILE POWER & ROSEMARY. FRESH CHOPPED ONION IS THAN PLACED INTO SLITS I HAVE MADE IN THE ROAST. LET THIS SIT IN THE ICEBOX FOR AN HOUR. PLACE IN A BAKING PAN WITH AN INCH AND A HALF OF WATER TIGHTLY WRAPPED WITH FOIL, OR A CASSROLE DISH WITH LID SOME AN INCH AND A HALF OF WATER. COVER AND BAKE FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS OR UNTIL INTERNAL TEMP. REACHES 165 DEGREES. BUT TWO HOURS @ 350 IS GOOD ENOUGH. YOU CAN DO THE SAME IN A CROCK POT BUT FILL POT WITH WATER TO COME FILL UP ONLY HALF OF THE CROCK. START VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING AMD COOK SLOW. BY 4P.M. IT WILL BE READY. USE THE WATER FROM BOTH METHODS TO USE WITH A GRAVY PACKET OR YOU CANMAKE YOUR OWN GRAVY WITH THIS SAME FLAVORED WATER THAT THE ROAST COOKED IN. GOOD EATS

Hmmm... if you like it on the sweet side try this Dr. Pepper recipe I found on the net a while back... it's real tasty and seems to be a hit...
Ingredients:
2 medium onions, sliced
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 4-pound pork loin roast
Salt and pepper
5 cloves
2 sticks cinnamon
1 bay leaf, whole
1 can (12 ounces) Dr. Pepper
1 1/2 cups dried apricot halves
1 1/2 cups pitted prunes
Instructions:
Place sliced onions in a slow cooker. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Season pork roast with salt and pepper, then brown on all sides. Place browned roast in slow cooker on top of sliced onions.
Add cloves, cinnamon stick and bay leaf to cooker. Pour can of Dr. Pepper over roast and top with dried fruit. Cover and cook 3 to 4 hours on high-heat setting for 8 to 9 hours or until thermometer inserted into center of roast reads 160° F.
Remove roast from slow cooker and let rest 5 to 10 minutes. Meanwhile, using a slotted spoon, remove onion, fruit and spices. Discard whole spices. Skim grease from sauce. Slice roast and serve topped with onions and fruit and a little sauce.
Serving idea: Delicious over garlic mashed potatoes.

I would suggest a good piece of meat from your local meat market.
then salt & pepper it really well (cover the whole thing w/ salt). bake it at 375 for 1 hr. then turn down the temp. to like 200 -220 and bake for 4-6 hrs.it depends on the size of the roast too. it really comes out mouth watering & tender.

TopCookbooks.com has a good recipe book on their site. BTW, I think they're having a recipe contest. I heard Pillsbury is having one too.
