I think Muslims get the most stereotypical questions; like the one some one say about the 9 yr old marraige where the Bible even says some prophets married 3 yr olds...any ways. Most people follow religion emotionally and not intelligently so they don't progress in the right direction God wants them to.

For me, no, it is not the only reason. For many of my friends who attended a private Catholic school with me, yes, it's because their parents were Christian, and they really didn't care about their faith other than to say, yeah, I go to mass every now and then, but I don't really follow any of their rules.

Many Christians are actually people who have converted to the religion from, say, atheism -- even when their parents have no religion. But I'm sure you knew that.

Most Christians will tell you that while their parents obviously had a big impact on how they chose their religion, it was a foundation to their belief system that centered on love -- why would anyone want to turn that away? (Many of the Christians that attended my school had parents who cared little about their faith either, so thus the reason that many abandoned Christianity or simply stopped trying to be one while still maintaining the title.) If God's greatest gift to us was love, then I believe that every religion started off and continuing with this principle should be held firmly to. That's right -- I choose not to condemn other religions. Instead, I believe that all religions, even ones that believe in multiple spirits or gods, are a valid way of understanding and worshipping the one true God.

Aside from this reasoning, I have stayed true to my faith because of my education *in* that faith. From preschool to high school, I've been in Catholic schools -- and because of this, I understand my faith all the more. It only confirms what I've been taught by my parents, and has taught me where to look into my faith for errors, so to speak. For example, the Catholic Church teaches that acting upon one's homosexuality is wrong, but I am against this -- I say that one's homosexuality is God-given and deserves to be treated as such.

My parents raised me christian, but as I grew older and learned God's word. They were following the bible.

Tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children, and their children to the next generation. Joel 1:3

But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. 1 Timothy 5:4

But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Luke 18:16

Bring up your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord Eph. 6:4

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6

so as that they could quite be stored, via following the classes interior the Bible. yet you're able to be able to desire to learn out what starting to be a Disciple is all approximately first, so which you realize what you have become your self into. It extremely breaks down like this: a million) Your hear the be conscious; 2) you have faith the be conscious 3) You act upon the be conscious (i.e., repent out of your sins--confess & forsake them) 4) You profess publically that Jesus is your Lord & Savior; 5) then you definately get baptized interior the call of the father, Son & Holy Spirit. word, that at no time do you're able to be able to desire to: "pray Jesus into your coronary heart"--this is nowhere interior the Bible, yet in basic terms a man made way of reducing the bar, so human beings can have faith a brilliant number of Christians are being made, whilst extremely, that's basically too shallow of a "conversion" to be regarded via God.

No, my parents were not Christians and they didn't go to church. I went to church with my next door neighbors kid when I was little. A white pastor would pick up me and my sisters to a church called Freewill baptist church. I was 6 yrs old. I stop going to church with them when I was 11 yrs old. I went back to church when I was 18 yrs old only because of a boyfriend that I am now married to for 11 yrs. Born again and saved at age 25. Evangelizing with Hubby for 11 yrs and counting and I have been a christian for 11 yrs.

Can you blame somebody for growing up in one religion, being all that they know, and all they believe in. I love learning about other cultures, which includes other religions. So yeah I have read parts of some of those books. There is no converting me. My faith for God is strong. And yes my parents had much to do with it, but i dont see that as a bad thing

Christianity is a reality. If you read the Word of God with understanding, The Bible, you will be converted. Common sense goes a long way. Try it. If you don't understand, ask for help.

No way! I am responsible for my own relationship with Christ. I'm sure the first I heard about God was from my parents but than again I stopped believing in the Easter bunny all by myself.

well since i didnt grow up in the church, nor did my parents or any friends i had, and i am now a bible college graduation, seminary student, ordained minister and most of all fully devoted to the Jesus that saved my life and my soul, i think that my parents didn't have much to do with that, although since i have notcied God's influence in my life, my mom, dad, older brother and grandparents have come to serve Christ as well.

No. Is th only reason you're muslim b/c your parents were muslim? Or does the fact that conversion is punishable by death have something to do with it? Do you enjoy people asking pointed, stereotypical questions about YOUR faith?

No. I was raised in a Christian home. My grandfather was a preacher. However, we all have to come to the realization that we are sinful by nature. When we come to this realization, we can repent and accept Jesus' forgiveness.
