Yes, you are! The federal law provides that everyone is entitled to a free copy of your credit report once a year to help prevent and curb identity theft. You can get your free copy of all 3 credit bureaus' reports at http://www.annualcreditreport.com.
Do not confuse this site with freecreditreport.com which charges you a fee for your report.
The free reports at annualcreditreport.com do not include your scores (you pay for those). I would recommend that you use these free reports for exactly what they are inteded for... checking for ID theft. You can choose to only view one report at a time. By doing so, you can check another free report every 4 months to see if there is any unusual activity.

You have to write each company independently to request your free credit report. The three agencies are:
Experian
Trans Union
Equifax
