If you are, and god is real, he knows you're bullshiting him and you're still going to hell. God(which is really fake) will probably respect atheist more for not taking him for a game.

I would rather search every religion before I just settle one one...basically most of them believe because it was the first religion they were introduced to. So if they are playing the better safe then sorry game then they should also worship every religious diety out there just incase....I think they are playing the "well it was the first thing I was introduced to and im too lazy to check out everything else Game"

Christianity is a belief unto itself. If God is not a real concept to you anyway, then why only question the Christian god? There are many beliefs. Eternity is what you make of it. When one fears, then there is a decision to be made. That is what Christinas do. Non Christians just know that hell is not what the Christians see and is nothing to fear in the first place.

If I live a righteous life, if I treat others as I want to be treated, if I give to others who need help, if I follow the Bible and do what God says, and find out God didn't exist after all, what harm is there? Did I hurt anyone?

Conversely, if I deny there is a God, and I live my life as I choose and then die and find out I was wrong, and He does exist, I have lost everything and it's too late to do anything about it.

Which would you choose?

No they are not saying that at all-they are trying to reason with you on your level. You are saying God is not real, and that you dont want to waste your good times being a christian if there is no hell.
Christians are sure of it, that's why they endure your insults, because they know you are lost and do not know you will burn in hell forever.

This, as you know, was called Pascal's Wager. What always bothered me about it was that it seems, as it seems to you also, ingenuous. The greater question is whether one can make oneself believe in things in which one doesn't presently. The second question is, if one does believe in something he knows is not true, is he a Christian in anything but name?
I have become convinced, listening to wild eyed fanatics, criminals and ne'er-do-wells in general that people can convince themselves of lies. The problem is that their lies spill over into the rest of their lives too, so that upon close examination, they are untrustworthy. I think these lives are very sad as they are replete with acts of self-love and devoid of any love for others, barring something which may not be momentarily inconvenient.
The second question is related to the first: Christians aren't just Christians because they say they are. Their lives are filled with Christian thoughts and Christian works. While Christians do sin, they come back to the Lord for forgiveness. You don’t get a free ride just because you sing hymns and attend church.
I agree with you that when someone attempts to "BS" God, God is the first to know. Moreover, Pascal would have realized that too. All I can assume is that he was making some sort of paradoxical quip. BTW, it was Pascal who was first credited with the phrase (paraphrased) "The more I know other people, the more I love my dog."
One of my favorite stories about being Christian comes from a fellow who wrote a book about being a drug addict and walked across America several times to raise money for drug rehabilitation. He told me, personally, that he had been an ordained minister but had not been a Christian until after he suffered from his drug addiction.
Anyway, he was preaching a sermon one morning, telling his story in his father's church. His father had been a well respected deacon in this local church in Durham all his life. When the preacher invited anyone to the altar who wanted to know God, he was as shocked as anyone when his own 75 year old father walk down the aisle to pray for salvation. His father related that he had done what he thought was the right thing all his life, everyone considered him to be a devout Christian, but he knew he wasn't a Christian. His son's story and struggle struck his heart and he opened it that day for the first time. Imagine all of the hypocrisy of that life filled with lies, just doing things because he should, highly respected and the senior deacon of many years. It's really disgusting.
But now see the man who has confessed with his heart before God that he loves Him more than anything and you know what it really means to be a Christian.
We are as filthy rags without God in our lives. But in God we become new beings in Him, not perfect, some of us far from it. A Christian knows what a hypocrite, liar and sinner he or she has been and comes to believe that only God can help. Every true Christian has nothing to brag about from that life.
I agree with you that God respects the atheist's or agnostic's questioning of the truth. Nevertheless, you will never find just the intellectual truth about God. 2 Timothy 3, especially verse 7, speaks about this very difficulty.
Lastly, some of us have tremendous difficulty with the "herd" mentality. That's understandable too. But God doesn't love you like the people in a high school cafeteria; He loves you as an individual, as if you were the only one. But before you can understand what He is all about, you have to come to God in love.

You are supposed to have a relationship with god, which is more than what you so simply stated, a yes or no answer or a better safe than sorry. You are right, god will see through insincerity.

You are taking to simplistic approach for a good reasoned answer. There is more to the christian belief system than just playing it safe. It truly is a step of faith no matter how you look at it. To those of you who think like this may I suggest the following

Well let's not forget where or who Satan was FIRST. These are the kind of thoughts he'll bring to you, to make you believe that God is fake as you say. I wonder what it will be like on judgement day.

What do you mean 'bullshiting him'? He will reward christians for being faithful and not turning their back on him. and yes, I think its wrong to say "if god if fake you have nothing to lose". Because he's not fake and no christian should ever say "if he's fake".

No, I've placed my eggs all in God's basket. If I die and there's nothing else, then there's nothing else. I'll die knowing that I lived a good life, did good things, and was able to spread a little love before I died. If there's nothing else, then that's good enough for me.
