My friends and I are going to Samet Island next month and we all do not want to stay in a bangalow. Could anyone recommend me a good place to stay there? Thanks in advance.

I don't think there're decent hotels in Samet island. Umm, actually it depens on what beach you and your friends are going to stay as there're tons of beaches in Samet. You don't have to worry much about the place tho cos most of bangalows and guesthouses in Samet are nice. If you're willing to pay for pricey hotel, you'll probably get a good service as if you stay in a decent hotel. If my info doesn't help you much, you can simply check out http://www.excelloz.com. The north end nearest Rayong has a few hotels. I stayed at the Malibu resort a few years ago. It is near the center of the island and was ~$45/night for nice A/C rooms which was a little pricey for me. The beach, bar and restaurant were all ok. It is beautiful and relaxing but you and your friends must provide your own entertainment. This was a pretty quiet island 3 years ago. The most beautiful beaches were at the southern end of the island but these had bungalows only.

Koh Samet is pretty basic...not any hotels considered greater than 3*...if you want lovely island and a bit more luxury go to Koh Chang!
