Because most not all of the conseratives have a GOOD MORAL BELIEF. They take a stand on what this country was built on in the first place..... GOD AND HIS WORD. Americans must have forgotton that one.

Because geographically, most baptists are situated in regions which are traditionally conservative? I think the conservative voting pattern is probably slightly more cultural than it is religious, although obviously the Republican Party more aggressively targets religious voters than the Democrats do....

Conservatism is dead in the United States. Now people just use it as a guise.

In fact, true conservatism would, in no way, gain power by exploiting Christianity like most "conservatives" do today. True conservatism is strict constructionism and would be more concerned with the rights of the individual to practice whatever religion they choose.

Conservatism isn't for God. If you want to make an argument for one side being for God, you'd have to argue moderate or liberal.

because religious people tend to do what they're told (out of fear) so they support those who want to tell everyone what to do. The abortion issue alone is enough to get religious folks to vote a certain way. Here's a hint, religious people: there won't be any unborn children (or people) left after your conservative republican leaders succeed in ushering in world war III. Good going...to save some clusters of cells you cause the human race to go extinct. Nice!

Because more of what conservatives stand for fall into harmony with what Baptist believe is wise choices then more of what liberals stand for.

conservatives are mainly Christians and people who want God in the government. Liberals are anti-God and wish for God to be taken out of the government!
