In Revelations the Bible talks about the armies that will attack Israel in the last days.
Revelations 20 vs 7When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Gog and Magog were 2 giants in a story who were fighting and because they were so big they rocked the world. It was supposed to be a metaphor about warring nations. Nations will always war because they always think they are better than each other and are ultimately threatened by one another.

Therefor it is apt in many points of history- todays point is the wars in middle east where Gog is the USA and Magog is the Iraq and Afghanistan (either or doesn't matter) in the 1950's it was USA and Russia and before that it was other nations.

One day the passage will probably come true, not because some miraculous being prophesied and it won't be the Devil, it will be people because they are just so predictable and can't find a way of putting aside their differences and living side by side with respect for each other.

The Yeminite pronounciation would be with the soft "G" sound so it is more like "Joj". Ezekiel 38 calls Gog "N'sai Rosh" which is often translated as "Cheif Prince", but which can also be translated to "President". MaGog is just Gog with a prefix on it that means "from". Gog is supposed to invade that land of Babylon.

Therefore, we are to look for a President name Joj who is from a President named Joj and they both will invade that land of Babylon which is now called Iraq. Now of course the chances of us ever even having one President name GeOrGe invading Iraq is pretty small. Imagine what would happen if both he and his son invade the same country! That would mean the end is very near.....

Gog and Magog are Russia and Iraq, my understanding of Revelations is that those are the two countries who have to watch what is happening in end times. Russia is already getting their feet in Iraq.

They were recently the bad guys in Superman comics. Maybe you should read up on that and have a more informed question next time. Look! You can buy their little action figures!
