Every time you puppy bites say to it sternly NO BITE! Then redirect the puppy to bite and play with a puppy toy and give it lots and lots of praises and love, soon your puppy should learn that toys are for biting not people.

Teaching puppies not to bite and chew does not happen overnight - it takes time and patience. Every time your puppy bites or starts to chew tell him/her "NO!" in a very firm voice and remove whatever it is he is biting/chewing (and replace it with something he CAN chew if possible - like a toy or a chewie, but NOT with an old shoe - they can't differentiate between an old shoe and a new one, and won't understand why it's ok to chew on one but not the other). Don't yell it, but say it loudly and with authority. It's even better if you use his name first, as that reinforces the name and the fact you are talking to him. I precede all of my commands to my dogs with their name.
Never, ever yell at your puppy for something unless you catch him in the act - they don't 'remember' bad behavior, so if you yell at him for something he did 5-10 minutes ago he'll have no idea what he's being punished for and will start to fear you. You don't want fear - you want respect and obedience.
Hitting your puppy will NOT train him faster. A much more effective deterent is to say NO in a firm voice, or to make another loud noise (like hitting your HAND, not the dog, with a rolled up newspaper). Hitting only enforces his defensive nature.
If he's teething, chewing helps relieve the pain in his mouth, so you can help him out by putting a damp washcloth in the freezer for a bit and letting him chew on the cold/frozen washcloth.
When you see him start chewing on something acceptable on his own, reward him with praise and possibly a treat. Dogs respond much better to positive training (like praise when they do something right), then they do to negative training (just punishing them or yelling at them when they do something wrong).
Be patient - it may take a while for the lesson to sink in, but the unconditional love is SO worth it! Good luck!

It depends on why the puppy is biting, cutting teeth or just aggressive play. Chew toys are inexpensive and come in a variety of designs, so you may need to buy more than one before you find one the pup likes to chew on. Grasping the muzzle and a firm no repetedly will not hurt the pup but it will modify the behavior.
Good Luck

Plenty of toys for this little fellow, to chew on, also try some hard puppy food mixed with soft puppy food. This will curve his biting

Raw hide bones, them twsited color rope you can get at the store in the pert section. I don't know about hot sauce. But if he is chewing on furntiure, try some black pepper. I heard some people try chili powder.
I don't know if he is biting on funiture, or someone playing rought with him. But if someone if rought housing him. Then be best to quit before he gets a lil older. Even if he is just playing, other people won't know. They would think his is just being mean.

Get ur dog a chew toy to occupy himself from bitting things he has no buisness biting. when he bits other things that is off limits to him, tell him no. ( if he doesn't know the "no" command, say no and hit him with a rolled up news paper )

it takes time, don't yell or hit him, when you see him chewing. move him or take away the object he's chewing on and give him something he can have.
I suggest getting an old washcloth and wetting it, then put it in the freezer. Always have 2 so when its not cold anymore get the other one. they like it cause it feels good on their baby teeth.
