Holyfield doesn't really notice when he's been beaten. As stated in the article, he still thinks he can be the heavyweight champ. If you listen to his interviews after the fights, you'd see that he considers losses to be part of God's plan. That's something that nothing or nobody can convince him otherwise. He probably believes that becoming world champion is just the next part of that plan.

I've heard a couple of things. One he has several illegitamate children and a while back it was reported he was paying $500,000 a MONTH in child support. He could afford it when he had those $40 million dollar fights twice a year maybe but not now. This may have been reduced by now hopefully but that was a big chunk of change. Also he invested in a Christian video television station where he may have been taken advantage of from my sources he invested quite a lot in that.
Determination
If you remember when he first lost to Michael Moorer i believe (or Riddick Bowe i don't remember which). He had a heart condition and wasn't suppose to fight again but he received a healing from God and despite what critics said he said God told him he'd be champion again and sure enough he has. Who knows maybe he thinks God is speaking to him again or he just has that fighter spirit where he just never wants to quit
Personally I think he was a great fighter and should retire or gewt into promotional side. I hope money is not forcing his hand so many great fighters including Joe Louis had to fight way past their prime.

More than likely he needs the money. Any fighter that hooks up with that subhuman slime Don King, generally will be short a few million bucks before their careers are over...
He's fightin' some "ham & egger" named Jermey "The Beast" Bates. 21-11-1, ranked # 392 and has lost 3 of his last 5...
Let's just hope he doesn't get hurt.

I guess he needs the money.
Funny how a couple of hundred million just doesn't go as far nowadays as it used to...
