why don't people spell correctly? Some *buy* products of a lesser quality because that is all they can afford, or they have a whim to change things, pets, children, visitors that would ruin high priced/high quality pieces. When my children were little and we had lots of animals, I did not want to worry about stuff spilling stuff, coming in from the pool getting things wet - I just tossed out some of the furniture - with no pangs of guilt.

First of all there are no "degrees" of quality. Something is or it isn't.

The issue in this country is cost versus relaibity and durability. Many "Quality" products are initially more expensive than others that may not be as strong, have as many features, outlast those of the competition.

That said ,,, in my business as an example. I buy "Quality" tools,,, or what I believe to be quality products based on my own experience and the reputation of the product. Certainly others may have a different opinion and make other choices. I just know that I get more life out of those products I know and trust, than some imports, or items/tools made to lesser standards.

No real offense meant to imports, it's just personal; choice as much as cost that drives the economy.

It can be rationalized in any product line,,,IE: small appliances.
I've purchased many coffee makers in my life, some expensive by comparison, to others I managed to find on sale for $6.

The fact that in most cases the Quality product lasted longer, even if 3 times the $6, kept me from being disappointed at certain times. Also having the appliance break down prematurely, having to spend time, gas, and money to hunt for another "Bargain" at a large chain store, causes my choices of how to make purchases.

There is no shame in making either choice,,, I just have preferences,,, and it really is based largely on personal opinion as much as anything else.

I would have to say qualtiy is a hard item to find that isn't made to cheap. Qualtiy is what you pay for and most often it is expensive.

Trying to save money. People often trad quality for price and this is often a big mistake, espically in big ticke Items. But human nature is human nature. Why do you think wall-mart has done so good?

We are bombarded with disposable everything. People lose sight of the long term and get used to throwing things away when they are tired of it. Quality costs money.

They are priced too high. The other side of this is how long do you want something hanging around anyway. Change is good.
