You strained your neck...just like some people strain their back. The resulting sound is tight tendons and muscles "popping" as they move around and pull on the surrounding vertebrae. Try putting an ice pack on the neck (20 minutes on...20 minutes off) throughout the day. Take an over-the-counter pain pill...Ibuprofen would be my preference...but any is OK. If the neck isn't better in a day or two, it's worth your while to have it evaluated by a doctor. But unless you are in agony or having any numbness down an arm, I think you can afford to wait and see if it resolves on its own.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

You need to go to a doctor. Something in your neck might be dilocated, or you may have even broke it. My mom was in a car accident and didn't even know her neck had been broke until she got home because she thought she had just pulled something. Dad noticed she was very pale and took her to quick care because of her accident. It could be very serious, either of these can kill you. Go to the doctor as soon as possible!

rub ice on the back of your neck and have a friend run it down your spine. after this, apply pressure the the lower abdominal area with a popo stick and rub a lemon on your eyeball on the right eye on the lower left corneal area.
