Study!

What worked best for me in University was to make up Q&A sheets. I went through all of the material that was to be covered in the test (including notes I took in lectures and textbooks) and wrote out all the questions I could think of, that might be asked on the test. Then I wrote out the answers to those questions.

The process of thinking of everything that could be asked, and then looking for & writing down the correct answers really helped me - I initially wrote out these "tests" as something to study, but found that after I wrote them, I knew them - and didn't need to study them any more.

Some of my friends wanted to borrow the tests I wrote to study, but they never did as well as I did - so I am convinced that it's the process of making the tests, and not studying them, that works.

It takes time - but is worth it if you really want good grades.

Good luck!

Attend every class, and take notes. Go over your notes, the same day of the class, and re - write them. Do all of your homework, and go over any parts, of any book, you are using, again, and make personal notes.

When you know you have a test coming up, pay attention to what the professor/teacher goes over, there is a good chance, it will be on the test. Go over all of your notes from class. Re - read all portions of your textbook, which were covered in class. Don't worry about trying to remember it all, it is in there, if you have read it.

The night before the test, skim over your notes, and textbook, then get a good nights rest. Do not over study, the night before, it will make you more anxious, you wont sleep good, and your chances of missing something you already know, go up exponentially.

Personally, I found that re - writing my notes allot, by hand, helped me do better on tests, and enabled me, to remember the material, long after the test was over. The true test is, will you remember the information, when you need it, not just for a test?

I hope this helps!

1.)Always attend class.
2.)Always pay attention to the instructor.
3.)Always take notes. (Do this even if you think you'll remember the info. Sometimes you don't actually remember it, and you'll be thankful you wrote it down come study time.)
4.)Participate in class discussion. (This helps with in-depth understanding of the subject.)
5.)At least a few days before the test, begin to study. (Read, Recite, Repeat. Also make flash cards if necessary.)

If you really folow these steps, you can't help but do well. I do this, and I am maintaining a 4.0 in college (along with a part time job and raising two kids!).

start studying at least a week before the test. Make sure you study every day the material that you need to know so that it becomes memorized. And make sure you actually understand what it is you will be tested on, if you don't then ask for help from the teacher.

Be consistent! Always pay attention in class, compile your own study notes and refresh your memory about a particular chapter by revising after school. Our brain is so wonderful it can store a lot of information. The only setback is you need to revise to make sure your brain stores it properly.

Good luck in your future exams!!!
