For more than a decade, both the mass media and editorial staff of major scientific journals have repressed contrarian and skeptical views regarding climate change. In 1995, a reporter for National Public Radio began his interview with me by asking if I believed that warming was due to human activities. When I told him the evidence was inconclusive, he snorted "no one is interested in that point of view," and hung up on me.
The public has no appreciation for how distorted the information is they receive. We are told that recent years are the "warmest on record," but are left ignorant of the fact that the beginning of the instrumental record coincides with the end of the Little Ice Age, or that temperatures for much of human history were warmer. We are informed that a computer model predicts drastic warming in the future. But we are not told that the model which predicts this warming is the most extreme of thirty such models, or that it is impossible to verify any computer model, all of which contain significant uncertainties and none of which actually portray past or present temperatures accurately.
We are warned that global warming will result in sea level rises, but not that warmer temperatures will have many beneficial effects, such as longer growing seasons at high latitudes. Every natural disaster that occurs, even tsunamis caused by earthquakes, is blamed on global warming. The litany of doom mongering is endless, but it is all based on either outright fraud or a dishonest and selective presentation of the facts.
So, I choose to cut the knot of global warming. This rash of ignorant conceit, hysterical nonsense, and rabid demagoguery is a fanatical assault on knowledge, civilization, and human enlightenment.

I feel that question would be answered by explaining why there happening. Simply since the polar ice caps are melting away because of global warming. The fresh water has mixed with the salt water causing the temp to change rapidly over the water hence causing more tropical storms etc... This effect has also triggered what scientist are calling tipping point that are causing other natural balances to be triggered. I think first we should start moving to less polluting cars trans and trucks. Use a lot of solar, if ever one have solar panels on their homes it would produce more than enough energy. with the glaciers I think we should make man made floats. One this will Keep the polar bears from drowning, and I'm sure NASA/ the world could come up with a reflective services which would act in place of the glaciers now. ( The glaciers are melting faster because there aren't as many reflecting back the suns rays hence it's warmer because of that. Better houses made of steal frames and clay roofs would help as well use the unwanted tires covered in dirt and make enery efficient houses like those people out west did. Use common sence don't build a house under sea level; or on a beach yes it's pretty but pretty stupid to do. sorry for any misspelling

Well, firstly, try not to build where nature is going to hit you again and again and again....and to try and defend against nature is just stupid. She's been doing what she does for the past.....long, long time, and, you know what, YOU WON'T WIN. New Orleans is the perfect example. Nature broke through every defense New Orleans had to offer. On the smaller family to family scale, we should build better homes that aren't made of cardboard with cotton in between with wood on both sides : ) lol. I also think that if people would just LISTEN TO THE WARNINGS and advice the meteorologist gives them, they could avoid a lot of problems.

1. Stop building on BARRIER islands.
2. Stop building below sea level.
3. Stop building in flood zones (in places like Seaside, Bayside, etc.)
4. Stop filling in and clearing marshes and swampland, so that you can build on it.
5. Concrete, dome-shaped house is a structure that can withstand hurricane forces.
6. If you people chose to live by the water in hurricane zone, then it's all about "live by the source, die by the source" risk.

Being kinder to the environment or rather the atmosphere, building better homes and the best way is opting to stay somewhere that doesn't get 4 or 5 hurricanes or a mess of tornadoes every year.

Stop building on the flood zones. The flood is mother natures way of cleaning an giving nutrition to the soil. It is great to live by water but if you do expect a flood.

Understand that you live in an area prone to hurricanes/flooding/blizzards and deal with it on your own rather than depending on the government or the charity of others when a hurricane/flood/blizzard decimates your house.
