I've often thought that yes it is. It seems to be a very literal place in the old testament and then a bit more abstract in the new testament, and nowadays people imagine it to be a tool used by people in the early days of Christianity to help recruit people to the religion. Basically saying "if you don't worship god you'll go to hell when you die and it's really really bad there"

i was told that jews don't do that heaven and hell thing like the Christians do. Hell and satan belong in the domain of Christian and Muslim beliefs.

Yes, and no. Episcopalians don't believe in an "afterlife" hell. They believe Hell is right here, right now. It's what we make it to be and we live it.

it is what God warns us we will find after death if we do not follow him and serve each other rather than ourselfs. are you prepared to take the risk of being in hell or are you there now. God can lift you out of your torment now as well as after death
