You're 18, I guess you can do whatever you want. 8 hours away is a long way to try to maintain a relationship, but it can be done. Good luck!

I don't see a problem with it but being 18 it would be best for you to see other people(him too) your to young to be tied down to just one person be fore your life even starts.
