He was and so were many more great recording artist. Have you heard of Elton John? Boy George? Not to mention David Bowie swung both ways and it was rumored Rod Stewart did also. But it didn't take away from them making great music. Look at how many TV commercials, sporting events and movies used Queen's music. So, it had to be good.
