Your heart is a pump that circulates blood through the many veins and arteries in your body...oxygenated blood leaves your heart ,in your arteries, flows to your tissues, organs and cells depositing oxygen then returns through your veins back through your lungs to heart to re oxygenate the the cycle starts over.

by the means of blood vessels well let me explain to you how..
the blood takes two main paths as it moves around the body. one path is called pulmonary circulation and the other one is called systemic circulation.
when the right ventricle of the heart contracts, blood is forced into the large artery that carries blood away from the heart to the lungs. the blood flows to the arterioles and then to the capilliaries. in the capilliaris, the red blood cells take up oxygen from the air in the lungs and leave carbon dioxide and other waste materials.
the blood with oxygen flows through the venules, then through the veins and back to the heart. a vein an elastic tube that carries blood toward the heart. the circulation is called pulmonary circulation.
the oxygenated blood followsa different way. the blood enters the left atrium and passes through the valve leading to the left ventricle. when the lef ventricle contracts, the blood flows into another large artery.
blood flowing from the veins reaches a larger vein that enters the right atrium to the valve. then it goes to the right ventricle, completing the round trip of the blood around the body. the circulation is called systemic circulation.
well this is enough i think..

Hey Charlie, Further you can add- Respiratory system is composed of 2 million alveoli which help in exchange of gases which is almost equal to the area of a lawn tennis court!! It's basic principle of working is difference in partial pressures which also ensures breathing in and out. It also purifies air coming inside and maintain the temperature of air entering equal to the body.
