A lot of rescue dogs will take a long time to put weight back on and as long as she seems healthy otherwise, just give it time.
A couple things to do...
First, take the vet to be checked for worms, get its shots, and to have a physical to see if there might be something else wrong.
If the the dog gets the okay from the vet then just make sure that you are feeding a high quality food...but do not over feed. Just like humans it isn't healthy to put on a lot of weight in a short period of time.
Stay away from foods like Iams, Purina, Eukanuba, Science Diet because they contain chemical preservatives, by-products, and worse fillers that are not going to provide your skinny dog with the nutrition it needs to regain its health.
Try foods like Innova, Wellness, Canidae, Evolve, Fromm. These are foods that contain only fresh meat, vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Your dog will probably thrive on one of these.
Last, do not feed any human food unless you are someone who prepares their dogs food on a regular basis. It is so hard to make sure that you get the proper nutritional balance that the dog requires. Dry dog food has this already figured our for you!
Just give the dog lots of love and good food and she'll come around! She's so lucky to have been rescued!!

Try mixing puppy food with the adult food, both of the same brand. I did this for my dog and it works great. Be warned it gives them more energy though. I mixed mine 1/2 and 1/2. But make sure to take her to the vet and get checked over real good. Best of luck to ya.

If there's no obvious reason for her weight gain, you need to get her into a vet. She could have thyroid problems or other things you can't see. If she's just underweight, the diet plan is just like a human's: eat less, exercise more.

She might have worms. Get a decent wormer and dose her with it. Then just continue with her regular diet of dog food. If it doesn't get any better go to the vet with her.

Bananas are good for dogs, they will put weight on them our, vet told us. After your dog gains the weight take him off the banana, give little pieces now and then.

Assuming that you have had her checked for worms, read the dog food labels
The higher protein foods tend to have more calories than the lower protein foods.
As a reference, my food is 24% protein.

Just give it time, and a normal diet.
All dogs tend to overeat and fat dogs die too young, so I wouldn't do anything to try to fatten this dog up.
Again, just give it time, and love and petting.

If you have not taken her to the vet..do so. She may be carrying parasites that you can get. My vet recommends puppy food for weight gain because it has more fat.
