It has a very primitive writing system.
Language should be as easy and as straightforward as can be.
An alphabet should be as simple and sleek as possible.
English and the Modern Latin Alphabet fit those criteria best. Malay doesn't.

Bahasa Melayu is not original language. Bahasa Melayu just got 5 original words : kayu, babi, batu... ( i just can remember 3 only ). But what can i say Bahasa Melayu is creative language. From a sentence, you can find alot of words from various languages. Bahasa Melayu ( from Malaysia ) more easy than Bahasa Melayu ( from Indonesia )... bcoz Bahasa Melaytu from Malaysia if you pronounce some words, u just use ur end of tongue.

But what make I proud is Bahasa Melayu at 4th ranks as the spoken language after Mandarin, English and Urdu / Hindi... 30millions people speaking Bahasa Melayu than Latin, Arab, French and etc... huhuhu... really glad with that.
