There's a new book that came out this week called "The Fat Smashing Diet". I just picked it up and I'm starting it today! It suggests that you eat 4-5 meals a day throughout the day (fruits and veggies and yogurt and oatmeal), and do 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise 5 times a week. This will "detox" your body and give it the wakeup call it needs. You do that for 9 days, and then you can eat normal food again, but still in small incriments 4-5 times a day. Good luck!!!

The trick is daily excercise to supplement excercise several times a week that pushes you. When I started learning Tae Kwon Do I found I had very weak arms, coming from a lot of years of no excercise and no real need to lift very much. My club had two 2-hour sessions I went to and our instructor amde sure that we were pushed physically. At first it wiped me out to keep up and now while I still sweat through it I can make it with some energy to spare. But in the course of the session besides the punch-bag I was doing maybe 40-50 press-ups over the two hours. So every morning I do at least twenty on my knuckles (for the sport they recommend you do that to condition your fists) it's not designed to make me sweat buckets but keeping it up tells your body that if it wants the difficulty to stop it has to improve. But alone it won't cause a big improvement, you need a regular sweat session that pushes you and hopefully offers a full workout, then find what you're lagging behind at and do something daily so you don't waste the effort you made in the sweat session.

Go to the gym, and take plenty of supplements. You should go running a couple fo times a week, and go to the gym three times a week. Go to your health food store and pick up a jar of powdered cholostrum (it's a synthetic of the stuff in breast milk to make babies grow) and also get some Creatine (put two loaded teaspoons in to your water bottle). If you do all this, you'll feel stronger literally in a couple of days, and you'll be very strong in a month if you keep putting in the hard work. It does not take long to get in shape, and once you start noticing changes you'll be automatically motivated to exercize. It just takes that first step of getting out and training. And cut down on the computer time... it is so worth the effort!

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if your trying to lose weight, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then your consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a fitness calculator that you can put on your cell phone and computer. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, log your daily calorie consumption, and log your physical activities.
*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as white potatoes) and drink lots of water.
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/PyramidLRG.gif?osCsid=26a424be471d1337e7c2f105d5c64d9d
*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.
Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training For Dummies”. *4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.
*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues. A good free publication is “Dietary Guidelines For Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”.
*6) Make a life long commitment to good health. A great test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com Look at other areas where you can improve your health. For example, make improvements on the quality of the air you breath. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier.
