Not to be direspectful or anything but what would happen if, someone found a new page to the bible.

When it was translated it read

To my dearest Husband

All characters in this book a purley fictitious, any relevance to any person living or dead is purely coincidental.

I know it would never happen but what if.

We all cut and choose in the Bible- most of us couldn't hang with most of Deuteronomy, for instance. The Holy Spirit leads us to know what is right for us and what isn't. A lot of the Bible- The Book of Job, the parables of Jesus-are presented as fiction in the first place, and are meaningful anyway.

it would still be the truth because conventional wisdom says so. That is, since theres already a very large number of people believing in it, it becomes "fact". Doesnt really matter if its real, our perception of reality is warped anyway (the red pill or the blue pill?).

after reading some answers, an advice to the asker: Dont ever give up the IF. The most powerful question in the world is "What if?". Tons and tons of inventions and genius ideas have been produced throughout the history of mankind because there are people who break away from mainstream perspective and asked the question "What if?". Kudos to you for bringing up a rather brilliant possibility.

lol - Ah yes the "Author's Preface" question. It's probably locked in a safe 300 miles beneath St Peter's palace, with the Author's descendants protected by a secret order or somesuch thing. Obviously if it got out it would be denounced, discredited and ultimately destroyed, or a whole hell of a lot of people round the world would go into full-scale shock as their belief system shattered overnight. Parents gone to Heaven? Nope, sorry, doesn't exist, they're nowhere but under the ground. Imagine the panic - definite rioting (after all, who's gonna judge you then?), the motto would have to be changed - In Bush We trust (God forbid!), one nation under....Canada...

Utter chaos. Fun, but chaos.

Then there would be no hope for mankind. We would all be damned... end of story.

Isaiah 64:6 states our righteous deeds are like filthy rags before the Lord. Good thing the Bible is true and a well established prophetic and historical book! Well worth researching both the internal and external criticism for yourself as many former atheists have!

Good thing there is hope for you... God bless!

then there would probably be a social uproar by the millions of christians saying that it was a fake. most people would see it as a fluke and would continue in their beliefs. some would probably do things they wanted to do but feared god enough not to do them.
