Does anyone have a recipe for Easter Biscuits? They have a plain biscuit base and the icing is plain and you are able to paint designs on it.

No I don't want to be in early for Easter. I wish to decorate them as Independence Day biscuits, not long to go now. Please hurry with a good answer.

Thanks, cgdchris, that looks like the biscuit base recipe. Just need the hard icing that you can paint on.

BISCUIT EASTER BUNNIES

1 3/4 c. unbleached flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. soft butter
3/4 c. milk

Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in butter. Add milk. Stir lightly. Knead lightly for 1/2 minute on floured board. Form into bunnies by making a body, a head, 2 ears, and a tail. Pinch together the parts so that the bunny will stay together. Place on greased sheet and bake at 425 degrees for about 15 minutes.

Whatever the recipe, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or other flavored extracts to bring out the taste a bit more. I like to add baking candy to the biscuit for extra crunchiness, but don't over do it >> also if you're a chocolate fan like myself >> heat up some chocolate syrup and pour it over the already made biscuits and then quickly put them in the refrigerator and have them cool for one hour then place them in the oven at 350 degrees F. for five minutes, afterwards sprinkle some cinnamon or splenda sugar over them lightly for added taste.

I've been baking for the last 15yrs of my life so I'm getting better at added flavor as well as decoration for parties.
