Why is it that SOME non-muslims, on the topic of Islam, the first thing that comes to their mind is...... ....

The fitst thing on the utterance of the word Islam, some non-muslims start thinking : jihad and dying in a battle and going to heaven to meet virgins.............., having more than one wife........., Mohamed the prophet married a young girl........., Mohamed promoted violence..............., Terrorism AND ALL THE NEGETIVE IDEOLOGYS THAT GOES WITH. ------@$&%&&*%#@^*(^%$#^&%#$%&**&%$$#%&*((*^%$^&^&**..................................................................................................................... ask yourself this : 1) Have I looked at the positive side of the issue. 2) How is it the dispite all of the above - Islam teaches peace and is the fastest growing religion in the world-- even by the number of reverts to Islam eg. Yuvonne Ridley (famous British journalist) , Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam) .......do more research yourself

It;s just some. I am a non-Muslim but I kinda feel Muslims are just like you and me... They are harmless, they trade, we negotiate with buying and selling their products... Well, I have yet to encounter a negative attitude of Muslims. It just happened that the Western US likes their oil too much

because 9/11 attack was a jihad.Mohamed did marry a 9 yr old kid which in today's times will b termed as a child sexual abuse,and he also killed 1000's of people which will b termed in today's time as terrorism or murder.The problem with u muslims is that u think of islam as the greatest religion in the world ,u don't read other religious bks which has no voilence as compare 2 ur Quran.Even the women r discriminated in ur ISLAM.sura 4.34 Quran-which states that ur husband is allowed 2 beat u .Death penality is given 2 those who try 2 convert from Islam 2 other religion.In other religion there is no death penality and nobody forces u if u wish 2 convert in general.what ever positive side u look into in Islam ,the other religions 2 have the same thing ,so nothing great abt it.Vol 9 ;57 Mohamed said ;whoever changes his islamic religion ,kill him.visit site Faith Freedom.org,then u might get some answers.Sorry 2 say there r lots of negative points in ur Islam.I do have muslim friends ,they r nice people 2 talk 2,provided we don't discuss the topic religion .

Because negative things are more visible than the positive ones. Yes Islam does have good things but muslims refuse to admit that there is anything bad in their religion. Most of them seem to think that it's the best religion in the world and everyone should be a muslim. That attitude is responsible for all you problems. There is truth and lie in every religion.

People r always ignorant of what they don't understand i have lived in Muslim countries and loved it never have i found nicer and kinder people.but as always with Islam a few bad apples spoil the barrel there has to be an enemy now the USSR longer exists,and its Muslims.if all Muslims are terrorists then we should also say that all Irish catholics are IRA and all Jews are stingy and all Americans are assholes you cant judge an entire country or culture or religion based on the actions of some of them.

The first thing that comes to my mind are the horrible practices that shariah laws force upon women and girls. No, I didn't say that all shariah laws that Muslim women must follow are horrible... but some are.

I don't see muslims as being any more violent than jews or christians. Of course, the jews and christians _are_ violent, so....

They worship the same "god", after all.
