My daughter had terrible dreams once, i found to much chocolate did it to her, but she was scared to go to sleep, So we brought her a special teddy to keep the bad dreams away. We put her to bed with teddy and read her a book, and go back every 5 mins and give her a kiss and then tell her you will be back, so on and so on. You have to be consistent and persistent. Good Luck Hope this helps

LIMIT AND MONITOR THE TELEVISION and after a certain time LIGHTS OUT and be consistent with it! She is old enough to have a bed time set! Those nightmeres may be a result of what she has been watching on the t.v. all day! after 6:00 pm tv off and get her mind on something else and by 8:00 bedtime thats it it will very ruff in the beginning but if you are consistent and maybe even lie down with her in the beginning then there should be no problem! SHE IS 4 REMEMBER YOUR THE PARENT you may feel guilt7y in the beginning but this will also work on the discipline factor also! TRY IT hope it all works out GOD BLESS

have you tried asking her to tell you what these bad dreams are about? Once you know what it is about you may get a better understanding of why she has the dreams in the first place; i would certainly think a four year old is too young to be staying up late till midnight. It might be something that scared her. And you can also pray

This sounds like a psychological problem, so theirs nothing you can do but just re-assure her that she will wake up safe and happy in the morning and tell her she is a strong brave little girl and you know she can stand up and face her fears and brave the storms of the nightmares! Perhaps give her warm milk and read her a bedtime story so she will become sleepy and fall asleep with good and beautiful imaginations of your stories forming in her mind instead of the horrible dreams she keeps having

is there anything going on in her life that would cause her to have bad dreams? ie moving, divorce ... If not I would encourage her to talk about her dreams then establish a bedtime routine that is soothing (a warm bath, good book and a little snuggling) maybe a nightlight or letting her crawl into bed with you after a bad dream. If it continues for too long I's consult her MD.
Good Luck

Is she napping during the day ? Are you giving her late snacks ? Too little information for an intelligent answer, take her to the pediatrician, or call a nurse and have a chat. It's probably nothing, something has messed up her sleep pattern.

have you tried to leave a little light, or ask her to draw " the monsters" she sees or the stuff she sees it's important to know what exactly is the problem...then with her, clean the rooms from the bad monsters by doing something funny. If it's monsters she sees, of course tell her they're only in her imagination and that's there's all sorts of them : fat ones, ridiculous ones...it worked with my boy : mummy's farts are the strongest against them. Tell her to think about something she loves...and if it's still a problem it might be related to something in her life so you should see a psychologist for children...'hope it 'll help!

Perhaps she had watched or read about something disturbing from the TV or from books. What she is exposed to during the day can affect her sleep. Ask her what bothers her and give her assurance.
