I lost my mother two years ago and I still have times when I cry. The hurt never goes away, but it gets easier. This may sound crazy, but I talk to my mom when I am missing her. I tell her I miss her or that I need her advise, etc. Sometimes, when I'm really depressed, I think of what she used to say to me before she died when I was in that mood. I also do things "for Mom". I learn new stuff or do something good for somebody. Doing something good for other people seems to help a lot. Also, there are grief counselors so it you are so sad that you can't function, call a grief counselor quick. Remember, your dad loved you. If you had died, you wouldn't want your father to miss out on his life because of grief. Your father wouldn't want you to miss out on yours. Above all, be easy with yourself. Everyone says that due to my religious faith, I've done well at accepting my mom's death, and I have. But I still avoid the kitchen when I visit my father's house because that was my mom's special place. I just give myself a break and don't worry about that. Good luck, hon. I'll be praying for you.

I too miss my father. But not accepting that he is no more...will just make things worse. I know I'm not going to see him ever again, the only thing we can do is to live as he might have wanted us to.
If there is life afterwards, he will not be happy to see you remorseful. Try and make life meaningful.
No body is going to live for ever. everybody has to depart some day or ther other. Sometimes it happens at very aukward times. But it's also true that there is never perfect time to die. Whenever that will be it will be tragic.

Aida I am sorry for your loss!!
I can understand how you feel. My grandfather was like a dad and a best friend to me. It broke my heart the day he passed away. I have never been the same since.
Its been 8 years and I still have days where I think of him and get upset. He was the only decent one out of my family.
You need to try and think that your father wouldnt like to see you upset or crying. He would want you to get on with life and be happy. You need to concentrate on doing that to make him happy ok?
He still loves you and will be around you to protect you. When you feel sad or miss him talk to him. The only way he lives on is in your heart and your memories. Celebrate his life ok?
Good Luck hun
If you need someone to talk to you can email me on hot_oz_e_chik@yahoo.com
Cheers

Yes, it is a big loss, but you know the world is a stage, where we all are actors, performing our roles, when the role is over, we have to leave the stage, whatever, role we have got we have to enjoy it, take life the way it comes, nothing is immortal. instead of loss, see what you have got, atleast, you had your father for some time, there are people, who even had not seen their father.
so, be realistic

I have a keychain, it's just a bead with kanji on it a chinese business partner gave me, she was passing them out to all the staff. I asked her what it meant and she said
"Oh, that's a good one. Says 'Do not long for someone who is gone, for they are always with you."
That quote has stayed with me and helped me feel OK with the passing of loved ones.
He is always with you.

He will always watch over you, talk to him when you are sad, he can hear you, remember you will be with him one day. We always love our Dad's forever, the hurt is always there, but we have to go on.
