okay so ive been arounf the religion and spirituality section and i saw a thread asking if atheism is a religion. not surprisingly i got alot of dumbas*es saying that it requires more faith not to belevie in god than to beleive in god.

im curious if you can explain your claim. how does it take more faith to NOT beleive in something rather than to believe in it.

which takes more faith? beleving in the lochness monster (regardless of the severe lack of evidence) or NOT.

if you look at faith like money...atheists invest none...christians invest some....so using christian logic...the atheist that invests none is more successful?

explain HOW it takes more faith NOT to beleive in a god.

They are just parroting what they heard someone say.

That claim is as silly as the claim demanding proof God does not exist.

But, no one ever claimed that logic or intelligence were a requirement for God belief.

Because, in short because I don't have much time, we're always criticised for our belief (or non-belief if you will). If a bunch of people are standing in a room talking about religion and someone mentions that they're an atheist they WILL come under attack from all the others - no matter what religion the other people are. Nobody asks you to explain why you're a christian or muslim or hindi or anything else all the time. People just accept it. We've got to justify ourselves all the time - which is annoying. and is why I'm going to shutup now...

Christianity is a faith of rescue. God reaches out to us through the Holy Spirit and convicts, convinces and assures. The Christian claims to have met and experienced God in Jesus by divine revelation.
What experiential evidence does the atheist have? It is an absence of revelation and so requires a greater degree of faith.

I didn't answer your previous question but personally I have sat and looked at creation, at the heavens, at the tiny little insects and everything in between and I can't imagine how this unbelievable creation came out of nothing. That at one time there was absolutely nothing, and then this nothing exploded and produced something and that something developed into the vast creation that we have today. I am not trying to be biased but I just can't fathom how that could happen. It is much much easier for me to believe that there is a God who created all this.

Idiots who don't know the definition of faith. Trust in someone or something, and something as in a intelligence or organization. U can't use that something in the context of a belief otherwise its not faith. Its confusing but if I said put your faith in god that is a correct example of fai but saying, I have faith in my beliefs is a incorrectway of using faith. Faith is the trust in someone or something........INTELLIGENT! And a belief by truth is not intelligent its instinct.

There are so many people around bombarding you with the idea that there is God, that you require to constantly assure yourself that you are right. So, this so called faith is the faith in your judgement, that you are right

because atheism isn't shoved down your throat like christianity and society does not accept it. and people asking questions criticizing another's beliefs because they don't agree, or spell check when talking about something as important as one believes it is. once again, material spirituality mixed with egotism gives you this vial concoction that is coming out of some mouths. accept everyone as they present themselves. its not up for you or me to decide if they're good or not. save it for your god, or my tortilla. we are all allowed to believe in everything we want to, and there is nothing wrong in that. that is our right and we should respect and protect it.

I don't think it takes more... but it dose take faith.

You have no more or less proof that there isn't a god than there is.

Athiest usaly place there faith in sceince though... that even though there isn't proof that sceince will find it given time.

i don't think one needs more faith to not believe in God, but one needs more strength. it takes a lot of guts to state you don't believe in something that 95% of the world's population believes in. when the whole world is pressurising one to have faith in something, when they criticise one's lack of faith in God, it becomes immensely difficult to state one's true beliefs.
