the vet now has tablets which you can feed your dog that get rid of the fleas within 24 hrs called capstar. after that i would recommend putting her on frontline or advantage to prevent another outbreak. depending on where you live you may not have to give it to her year round if it gets cold in the winter. visit a great website for dog owners to get supplies called drsfosterandsmith.com ..... they have great prices on meds such as frontline and advantage and also on toys, beds, anything you can think of really! good luck!!!

If she is over 6 weeks, Advantage is the best. A small drop on the back of the neck every month kills fleas on contact. If under 6 weeks, a flea comb and drop the fleas in bowl with dish soap and a little bit of water.

Take her to the vet and get her dipped. At the same time, spray your carpet with a flea killer, but keep it away from her food and water. Spray the furniture as well. Get some Spectracide and spray it around your yard, front and back, and keep the grass mown.

The best natural repellents are brewers yeast and garlic added to the food; this can be most conveniently added in the form of pills, available from health stores or some veterinarians.

Get Advantage. It's available in sizes to match your dog. Veterinarians have it and some pet stores do too. It's also available online. You just apply it once a month.
