Important if the mental health educators are not mentally ill themselves. Consider that some live in a society that has 1/8 the world population and use 80% of the worlds resources, yet that society has homeless individuals. Consider that in that same society, for approximately 40 years, more degrees were in the diciplines of: psychology ,sociology, law, economics, divinity, medicine, business & education, yet the problems in that society are in those same areas. MBA's can't find a job and don't have enough sense to make a business so that they can have a job. Also consider that in this same society that the people vote for "public servants," that can determine how much the "voting class" pays them, live far better that the voting class and have none of the worries of the voting class, for instance, retirement, medical care, hunger, homelessness, & poverty. Some of those with degrees have went to school longer than their counterparts because they started as early as age 2 or 3.
The same nation was founded by pirates that stole land from people and people from land. The founders even stole from the orginal thieves. They commited genocide on the indgenous population, puchased stolen land without returning it to the original owners, worked some other people for free, builds a fence to keep out the descendants of the and original inhabitants of this land, and lies to everyone including little children about it.
The etimoligy of psych, mental, and mind, are linked to words like soul and spirit. Understanding this is a good beginning. Earth history is replete with of examples with mental illness in every clime and time. Menatal illness is a socially transmitted disease. Just as a dominant culture transmits its illness within the society at large, the dominant nation will do the same to other nations as well.
For instance, murder, theft, torture, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and verbal abuse against children; was present in the society against the indgenous people earlier referred and the enslaved population. It is important to note that many people referred to members of either of these groups as animals. So read that they raped these "animals." This is not psychologically sound. To enslave ones own flesh and blood and the woman that gave it birth is also not psychologically sound.
To classify Humans in categories when more scientific means are more available is to justify theft and cruelty is not psychologically sound.
When the mental health professionals themselves might be in need themselves it is questionable that they can educate anyone. After all their deriliction of addressing issuses presented above has exasserbated the problems in the referred to society today.
"Homicide is extroverted suicide."
Modern mental health care is an cash making industry that provides employment in a society that no longer has the viable manufacturing industry of the past. Common people are expendable and have always been the group which have been subjected to experimentation, often times by other common men just following orders.
