We all have an objective "observer" watching from the back of our mind.
When you feel yourself getting emotional, 1: Admit that you're cranky. Move your consciousness to the observer and ask WHY you're upset, explore the reason for it.
I've got a horrible temper, but I've learned to control it by asking myself questions instead and isolating myself when I feel angry. If its another person, I think about what their actual intentions were when they did what pissed me off. Rarely do people deliberately piss others off.
Basically, assume you're being selfish whenever you get angry.

You need to walk away when you feel the anger coming on.
DECIDE not to talk until you are calm.
Take control of your emotions. It's ok to get angry about stuff but it's not ok to lose control of yourself. You will lose credibility. So empower yourself and walk away until you calm down.
