Every Government has secrets. They have to to keep us safe. Unless you have a newspaper that digs and digs to find out and puts them on the front page so our enemies can know and change their tactics. And someone in Congress that leaks to the radical left media news papers. No wonder the President hates to tell Congress whats going on. I bet the New York Times will be found out that they are paying for those leaks. How do you have FACTS that we are being lied to? The left wing media and weird websites?

I really think that there are good reasons to keep some things secret in a government. Should we all know strategy for winning the Iraqi war, for instance. But I also think you have a valid point. It is hard to trust leaders when we have lost respect for them. For instance, how much could we respect and believe Clinton after he said "I did not have sex with that woman."

As far as paying taxes goes. It is necessary to keeps our roads in decent condition and our country running. There is no obligation on the part of the leaders to tell you everything just because you pay taxes.

We shouldn't and we should hold them accountable when they do lie to us.

They don't care. Who really knows the truth when the US took 8,000 pages out of the UN report on Iraq by Hans Blix BEFORE the war!!

They should not be allowed to pull squat out of reports and label things Top Secret when all they are doing is hiding them from us.

I know at least part of 9/11 is a lie, and I knew Bush was lying about Iraq before we went to war!

Hard to make good judgments when all you get from them is lies!

It is one big collusion!!

Oh, you are right, WE pay taxes, not corporations! Many paid no taxes and some even got rebates, yet they control the whole mess in Washington. They must pay their taxes DIRECTLY to the rep because that's who they represent!

cause some of us can't be trusted with secrets. If you want to join the team you can and then you WILL be briefed on what's going on.

if you don't have any trust in your government...it will fail...if you only point out the mistakes they do, but never say the good things...people get pessimistic and soon the trust will leave and cause anarchy in the end...

Yeah, some secrets are best not know. Or at least not know now.

You shouldn't.
Governments, like all power structures, are not to be trusted.
