When is everyone going to realize that, sure, there are Christians, Atheists, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, and everything else in between, yet we are all hurt the same way by a blow to the head? We all share what hurts and what we need to live. When will we stop arguing who is right and actually work together to make a better world? We may think differently, but we all need to breathe, eat, and drink don't we? We all have good ideas and it is about time that we listen to each others - that is what every human spirit needs to realize.

EXCUSE ME oldguy63! But I am in fact a Christian - and we should want to make this world a better place for us to live in! God gave us this world for us to govern, and we must do so accordingly.

There are two things that can never happen because of the nature of mankind, one of them is true peace. Even if we all did find some way to get along, there would always be some jerk to mess it up at a personal level.

We will only know peace when all religions are nullified and replaced with a universal belief system. The world's population is still far to gullible, superstitious and primitive to embrace a belief based on ethical atheism, therefore a belief system based on New Age concepts will be introduced. A new world order will soon be ushered in by the great Maitreya. All religions except Christianity will embrace the Maitreya as fulfillment of their Messiah prophesies. The Christians will unfortunately refer to the Maitreya as Antichrist and rebel against him. In order for the golden age of universal peace to become a reality, the rebellious Christians will have to be 'dealt with' This was the vision shown to Lucia at Fatima, (see the Third Secret of Fatima)

Sixteenth-century Europe was characterized by intolerance and bloody religious wars. "Never before the 16th century had the teaching of Christ, 'Have love among yourselves,' been so ridiculed by his followers," observes one historian. Some countries, such as Spain and England, ruthlessly hounded religious minorities. Others, like Germany, adopted the principle of "Cuius regio, eius religio," meaning that the one governing a territory decided its religion. Any who disagreed with the ruler's religious choice were forced to leave the area. War was avoided by keeping religions apart, with little or no attempt at religious coexistence.

Unfortunately, this is only universally realized when a great tragedy arises. People seem to come together when they need help or, (rarely as I've seen it) want to give help i.e: Tsunami, earthquake, hurricane. The problem is, everyday life gets in the way, work and school and money...soon people forget about the tragedy and go back to preoccupying themselves with more selfish concerns.

Because our goals are different. You want to make the world a better place Christians realize that the world is doomed and want to go to a better place. Jesus taught that we are not of this world even though we are temporarily living in it. He said, "Do not lay up for yourself treasures on earth... but lay up treasures in heaven. If we follow your way then our treasures in heaven will be lost and our treasures on earth will be destroyed and we will have nothing. Go your way but don't drag us along with you. I think a better way is freedom, you go your way and allow us the freedom to go our way.

Until each of us think like that... then working together seems in the distant future. For leaders of all religions, especially those who wants to rule the world, would not settle for anything unless they have want they wanted.
