im changing my hair color for the 1st time so i dont want to ruinen my hair whats the best kind?

Anytime you change your hair color you "ruin" it, i.e., dry it out and make it more brittle and thereby susceptible to split ends.
That being said, if you're not willing to pay a professional colorist at a salon, experiment at home with Garnier Nutrisse. And condition, condition, condition!

it is always better to know the hair type you are having and which are the chemicals that may or may not suit your skin type. so there is no universal best hair dye. it depends upon the hair type you are having. first consult your doc. and then choose one of many good brands available. best of luck.
