I can't be sure of the year, but the 1.5L of Mondavi Chardonnay (not reserve or anything else, plain Chardonnay) was selling for 7.99 at Costco(warehouse store) in CA. So I think 4.00 is a normal price for the wine. If you aren't in CA 4.00 is probably just a little better than normal because the price of the less expensive CA wines goes up just because of shipping and other costs outside of CA.

It'd probably be a decent wine.

The wine is beyond its prime.
White wines, even if it is the great Chardonnay, are at best aged for a year at the most.

We are not talking about the greath growths from Bordeaux, are we?

All of the regular mondavi's are decent drinking wines but none of them are that fancy and worth saving.

I wouldn't waste my money on a california wine to be honest. Stick with imports

That sounds too good to be true, and it is. That wine is way past its prime and probably vinegar. Spend your money on something potable.

It probably won't be bad but it won't be spectacular. It's a bit of deal (only slightly) but I wouldn't keep it around for long either.
