The same thing happened to my mom about a year ago; she started noticing a numb feeling and pain in her wrists, and was sometimes not able to use them. After going to the doctor, she was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrom, which there is really no cure for, other than treating the syptoms by wearing a wrist brace when it hurts and sometimes to bed.
I would suggest seeing a doctor do find out what is really wrong.

Are you right handed? It could be Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (which is a compression of the nerve in the wrist area), especially if you use the computer a lot.
There are other types of nerves and muslce problems that it could be ... See a doctor if it persists. They might request you get a nerve conduction test and an EMG.
I had both done recently, if you happen to have any questions about them. Feel free to send me a message if you do.

It could be Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I have that and mine is numb a lot when I wake up and it also hurts to write for a long time or chop vegetables too. You can get an easy surgery to fix it.

I just watched a true medical show on tv last night. One of the women on it had a numb feeling in her hand, it ended up (years later) being a deadly and rare disease.

It could be nothing, but you need to go to a doctor and see what they think.

This lady went to doctors a lot and they didn't find anything until she almost died.
