Does anyone know anything about taking adderal (or ritalin) during pregnancy? I want to start taking something for my ADD because it is causing major problems in my life but I'm also trying to get pregnant. I'm not sure if its worth fighting for the meds if I'll have to stop once I find out I'm pregnant.

you need to speak with a Dr.before you start any medication if you are considering a pregnancy. if you are having major problems in your life, why would to want to have a baby before you resolve your issues. please note a lot of medications cause major complication to a developing fetus if they are taken during a pregnancy. you need to contact a Dr. for both your sakes.

There is an excellent Canadian resource called Motherisk. They have a website with a list of phone numbers so you can contact them. They help with things from morning sickness to risk factors of medications.

Adderall is in the FDA pregnancy category C. This means that it is not known whether it will be harmful to an unborn fetus.

Discuss that with you Doctor, he'll best be able to tell you or suggest something else that may not be harmful to your reproductive health or the health of a fetus.
