im 22 and i know what you mean, i have a two year old daughter and a one year old neice and the thought does scare me.....
i even go so far as to think of their children and what they're going to experience when their born and thats way off yet!
its like they're paying for our and our parents/grandparents mistakes.... it seems unfair, they're the ones who will have to repair the world for us

Same as Smurfette.
I have two nieces and two nephews - no kids myself. I think the whole world is going down the drain; it's a bad time for everyone. I thought it was just me, and maybe 4 or 5 others, who thought this. What's wrong with people? Why so much hatred? There's no way I'm bringing children in to this world - and YES, I feel sorry for them and all the other children too.
Maybe, they can make it better than our generation did .......

I have no younger cousins, neices or nephews but I am pregnant with my first baby. You have to remember along with all the bad and nasty things that go on in this world are beautiful and amazing - sights, places, people. If you bring a child up feeling sorry for it then it will grow up bitter and resented at the world, instead why not bring up a child and show them and teach them about all the amazing things that do happen in this world. Give them the chance to see it with new eyes and enjoy the time they have here.

Well dont know what you class as older person, but Im 32 I have Girls 13 and 11, and thought this way for sometime! I remember what I was like at 13 I was giving anything a go,and its a lot worse now, std's, drugs, alcohol ect I think you have to keep a firm hand as a parent with some freindship so they can talk of anything with out being scared of thinking you going to go on at them,Its good for them to know you have done things wrong and do understand! Its also help for them to get out there and learn to be streetwise bad things are out ther and its going to get worse so educating them on things helps! (I hope)

I do sense sorry for them . Peaches is okay as nickname / puppy call no longer as call for a baby . Paolo is more advantageous besides the undeniable fact that i do not extremely like it . In 13 years i imagine you're little cousin ( the lady ) will change her call .

i do, as i know a cousin who was born in a family (well they are not exactly nice parents to be with, deceptive still) and im really afraid that he would be manipulated around when he grows up and learn the bad ways of things....etc.

I'm sure that your uncles, aunts and cousins may have felt the same way about you - but you don't regret being alive i hope?
The times are always changing, but people just adapt to it.
When you are older and your urge to have a baby kicks in you'll probably change your mind!

I agree with you. I'm 21, and seriously wondering if I ever wanna have kids. Why bring them into a world that we're destroying? Especially when we kill each other. It scares me.
