Many religions have the concept of proselytising, which means it is their religious duty to 'save' or convert others to their faith. It doesn't matter if outside people are interested in their beliefs or not, or if in fact, they have their own code of morals or ethics. It's just part of the faitholder's religious duties. It does tend to numb the brain though, doesn't it?

I am. It's unbeleivable how far it has gone too. It plays such an important role in our everyday role. Too important. I grew up in a non religious household and my family are the most peaceful people I have ever met. We don't have agendas and we dont bother people. We just beleive people should do what they want as long as it doesn ill others. Religious folk are dangerous. They hate gays and people from other religions. And it is all so stupid because they all pray to their respective Gods against each other. If team A prays to defeat team B and team B to beat team A then who would this probable god favor? The idea of competing interests renders the whole thing completely illogical! It scares me for the future of our society and children too. Keep it in your home and church-but not outside it! And quite judging everyone! I thought god was supposed to do that?

YES...especially when they try to 'save' me...I am already saved...I am also ecumenical...meaning I do not adhere to any one denomination's dogma or truth...but like to emphasize how we are alike rather than different...
I am a fundamentalist, a conservative, a liberal, and sometimes even a radical...but I defy anyone to tell me what I am on which issue...All I really know is that GOD IS...that is really all we need to know...though we do grow in our spiritual life...
No, I do not like religious 'fanatics' trying to convert me to their brand of religion because theirs is the only way...God is a Big God...and I think He understands just where we all are in our faith....I have been Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, Episcopalian, Missionary & Christian Alliance, Catholic and now back to the Methodist...I find they all have the same core belief, but are different maybe in the way their act out their faith...None are all right and none are all wrong...
In other words...Love God & Be Yourself...That's how He created you...To be the You that He made you.
My opinions...You are free to disagree don't you think?

Maybe they don't think that we're that interested in them...
and if since then we don't show that much interest about it, we don't know that much about it...
maybe they just wanna share...
I think that they just wanna help, or enlighten some things to you...
I am also not very comforable when we talk about those stuff, coz' im not that very particular about those, and about the Bible. I have a few friends who are very religous so we get to discuss those matters, about the Bible. beliefs and God...
However not in every conversation they bring those up...
Im gettin' used to it though...
and I even think it's a good thing also for me to be aware, and be open-minded about other stuff....

Well, I'm not creeped out by them, but they can be annoying. But then, I am annoying sometimes in other ways. Like sometimes I try to push my (non-religious) beliefs, ideas, or opinions, without even realizing it. Haven't you ever done that?
I think it is just human fallability combined with the human desire for acceptance and connection with other people.
And it may also be cultural. My wife is Japanese, not American, and in Japanese culture, people try to tune into and reflect the opinions of the people around them, rather than force their beliefs. It makes for a completely different experience than what we Americans are used to (I'm assuming you're American, based on your English usage). In Japan they have people who call themselves mushukyo, which means "no religion". But unlike Western atheists, they have no basis for disbelief, and will not try to argue against belief in God. Western atheists often have rationale for disbelief, and are quick to argue about it.
So, if you can, my advice is to blend with the fanatic, to humor them as you would a child who is trying to tell you that he/she has an invisible friend. Make a game out of it. See if you can subtly influence their thinking without them knowing what you are doing. Have fun.

Why would U think someone is creepy? Just because they CARE enough about someone they don't even know, to hear the message on how to have eternal salvation in heaven with GOD!! What U decide to do with that information. ACCEPT or REJECT JESUS, is then your own responsibility for the afterlife. Be smart, read and research the Bible, then, believe me and millions of others who are already convinced, GOD WORKS!!

Maybe they are interested in it-you think? So what, people can talk about the "Vag.ina Monologues" but clam up (sorry for that-couldn't resist) about God? C'mon, lighten up.
Go over to an Islamic culture and see how much THEY talk about God.
You'd get totally creeped out and then maybe whipped and covered in a burka. What a bummer, huh?

Well why on earth do you come onto a religious site and complain about Christians? Of course you are ranting! How can Christianity be occultish? Unless of course you are talking about the RC church, they are pretty occultish, with their praying to the dead, and having bits of people inside the church named after some imaginary saint or other!
Yep, we cant stop talking about God as He is SO wonderful and He is a Wonderful Creator, His blessings are new every morning and it is so wonderful knowing that we are saved and forgiven. PRAISE THE LORD!

I am not creeped out, I just feel sorry for them as they are brainwashed, and usually they become fanatical due to some form of mental illness, that isn't obvious, but surfaces when they find religion. I find a lot of them have control issues, and religion is very controlling in nature, so it fits their psychosis very well. Archie Bunker put it very well in the hit series "All in the Family" he said " faith is something people believe that no one in their right mind would believe in".

When you post in a public website your going to get answers from everybody. All cultures, all people, all religions, and all sorts of answers!
Religious people Love god and are not afraid to share it! They have a genuine faith and enjoy sharing God's news with other people. Just because you don't want to hear it, it doesn't mean that other people don't. I love reading religious answers, from all faiths, not just my own. Some people are interested.
If you really don't like an answer, you could just skip over it.
But you have to expect answers that you are not going to agree with.
