i have a really nice boyfriend.we have been going out for 5 years.i just don't feel attracted to him anymore.i kno he really likes me but i don't want to break his heart.i have been talking to his ex who i really trust but she recons i should just be blunt and tell him i don't want him.all the while i am falling for this other guy.i think he is falling for me too.my life could be a soap opera.what should i do about everthing?

I strongly believe that if you no longer want to be in a relationship with the person you are with, that the best thing for one to do is be honest and up front about it. Nothing is more worse than having someone cheat on you. I've always said, I would rather have my bf be up front and honest with me. Than go behind my back and cheat. At least then I know that he has that respect for me. Yes it will hurt to tell him you no longer would like to be with him, but just imagine how hurt he would be if he knew you were cheating? The sooner that you break up the sooner you both can find your soul mates or whom ever it is that you are looking for. - Good Luck *smile*

Be honest with him and be firm. If he is really upset he will look for signs that you want to get back with him in everything you say and do so make sure the signals that you are not interested are very clear.
Don't rush into another realtionship - give yourself time to just be you.

there is no way to break up without breaking the heart of ur boyfriend because he likes u it will be difficult for ur boyfriend to overcome his feelings . I will suggest u if u do not want to continue with him any more so let him know about that because as time going on it will more diffcult for him

sweetie, if your not attracted, then there must not be much to the relationship, after 5 yrs, physical attraction shouldnt even be an issue...telling lies or trying to sugar-coat it will make it worse, just tell him that you feel it's time to move on, in one way or another, but, sorry, i cant really tell you what to say, esp w/out knowing either of you. good luck

However, you got the best advice about it you could possibly get: Be honest, and unmerciful about it.
Tell him straight out, and respect him enough to be honest about what you are doing and why.
