He has been to the vets and appears to have no major problems

Obviouslly people the vets do not know whats going on and whats the point in wasting more money. Most likely your dog has hereditary problems passed down through his generations. My best advice would be to make sure you have only animal safe products being used (could be a problem) and also to not worry about it.

If you haven't tried an all natual food yet, try one that has only fish in it. alot of the additives and so called natual ingredients in the regular foods have been processed to the point of no return. The food is usually quite expensive but worth it. Also check the dogs ears. If they are red, it is very possible that your dog has allergies and you will need to be extra careful about what you feed him. A vet can recommend a suitable diet for you. If that doesn,t help, maybe there is something else making your dog sick. I would recommend a visit to the vet for a complete work up for your Shepard to rule out any serious complications,

He's sick because you keep switching his foods. Just stick to one dog food or go to the vet.
