Absolutely. There are only certain crimes that carry the death penalty and there are a number of reviews that take place before an execution takes place. Once the person has been found guilty and the reviews have taken place, the punishment fits the crime.

Only God has the right to take an independent life. Emphasis on 'independent' life.

This is my exact argument to clarify why abortions are legal. No one but God has the right to decide when to take an independent life. A fetus in the womb is not independent therefore only God can decide if that is murder.

Anti-abortion ppl like to state that abortion is murder then turn around and say they are for the death penalty. This makes absolutely no sense. Basically they are saying it is not ok to take a life that is dependent on someone else to live but it is ok to take a life that is not dependent = murder.

I believe that all life is important, if not sacred. I therefore do not believe in the death penalty nor do I believe in abortions after the first trimester (during the first three months under certain circumstances I think it should be permissible). Neither should be acceptable behavior for a caring, humane and educated society.

Yes but get rid of the sissified leathal injection. Those who are on death row are there for a reason and did they worry about the rights of those upon which they trespassed upon.

No. It does not deter crime. It is not cost effective (appeals cost as much as imprisonment). The only reason for its justification is revenge. And its not worth the chance of killing an innocent person.
