but of course anyone can answer.
1 John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
Does this mean believers are made out to be liars by non-believers, or does it mean believers have the truth and non-believers are liars because they dont have God?
Not preaching, just curious, I'm not sure wich way to interpret this verse. I will pick a best answer so all the Bible is a myth stuff will be ignored.

The New American Standard Bible reads, "the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son." The NASB capitalizes "Him." So, the non-believer is not calling Christians liars, and he is not making himself a liar, but he is calling God a liar because he has not believed God's testimony. God is the one saying, "this is My Son." So, if anyone doesn't believe this, then he is calling God a liar.
On the other hand, the believer has God's testimony within himself, so he will never doubt that Jesus is the Son of God.

According to your direct quote, it would seem to mean the latter. That Non-believers would be named liars because they don't believe the record of God's son. It is rather confusing.
Which version of the Bible are you using?
The problem I find with the Bible (I am not Christian but have most of it several times) is that it is subjective. When I'm in that poetic/metaphor mood, I ppreciate it a lot more than when I am trying to figure out what the scribes meant.
Further problems exist with the fact that so many changes have been made. Here is a nifty online comparison chart of the different versions showing verses which have been altered, inserted or removed, altogether. http://www.av1611.org/biblecom.html
Here is the online Parallel Bible http://bible.cc/1_john/5-10.htm
1 John 5. Perhaps one version will make more sense to you than another.

Okay...I have the NIV Bible and this is how it goes "Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son."
I think it's saying that the one who doesn't believe in God is calling GOD a liar, not the believer. He's doing this because he doesn't believe. I think it's all in the wording and I can see where it would confuse you...I had to read it a few times before it clicked.

I think you are quoting from king James or an older version but basicly I read it that if you beleave in Jesus you know the truth and if you deny him you are calling God a lier as he had told the prophets of his sons coming many times Jesus ( yeshua ) is for told in the old testament. Jesus said a simile thing in that if you say you have nor sinned you are calling God a lier becouse he said we have all sinned and fallen short of his standerds only through salvation ( yeshu'ah ) can we br cleansed

It means that those who don't believe have made God out to be a liar by not believing the testamony of Jesus.
Ok, so I paraphraised that from the NIV version, but what says it better than the word itself?
And I think it means that the believers definetly have the truth, and non-believers are liars becuase they don't believe.

Here is another version of that passage in 1 John. I included the rest of it, which makes it pretty clear what he is getting at. It is a good question.
10 Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son.
11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

I think the authors point is (or how I have always took it) is as follows...
If people chose not to believe and say that Jesus didn't not exist then they are calling God a liar. Which would be a ridiculous thing to do because God can not lie.
I believe this is the point that the author was trying to make.

Thank You for ignoring Bible myths. First this mean the witness in himself is the Holy Ghost which is of GOD If you accepted CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR then you have the free gift that's (salvation). He that believeth not do not believe the report that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and SAVIOR they don't believe that GOD has sent JESUS. No we are not liars because we believe They are liars because they dont believe.

It always helpful to read several verses before and after the verse you are studying since those verses often clarify the verse you don't understand. And sometimes a different version can clarify things as well. I use the New International Version Study Bible which is very helpful to me.
1 John 5:9-12
9 We accept man's testimony, but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son.
(NIV)
In Verse 10, "his testimony" refers to God's testimony. It says that anyone who does not believe God has made him (God) out to be a liar.
In other words, if you know God's testimony and believe it, then you have the Son of God in your heart. If you have heard God's testimony and do not believe it, you are suggesting God is a liar and if God is a liar, then you cannot have the Son of God in your heart. And if you do not have the Son of God in your heart, you don't have eternal life.
I hope this helps.
