1 Co 11:14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a shame unto him,
1 Co 11:15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering.
1 Tim 2:9 I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,
Christian or not...please answer....(NO TROLLS)
and do you think we would lie in a better society if we did all live by all the rules and comandments in the Bible?
i know i do!!!

God was ordering him to tell the church women to differentiate themselves from other people, like prostitutes, represent God with the way you dress,
GLAD YOU AGREE THEN...THANKS

So are you saying that as a woman, I would be making the world a better place by...
having long hair, not braiding my hair (wtf?), not wearing any jewelry, and not wearing expensive clothes.
While I can agree with the lack of materialism being a good thing for me in my life, I will cut my hair and braid it any time I please.
*******
You asked for an opinion. You got it as respectfully as possible and without trollish insults. Now YOU get nasty with ME, and do the exact thing you asked people not to do in answering your question.
This is why people laugh when Christians cry that they are persecuted.

See, the thing about opinions is that they cannot be "wrong." Only facts can be "wrong", and opinions are not facts.
Attacking someone's respectfully given opinion with a disrespectful comparison to Jerry Springer is the same as attacking them. It's called ad hominem in debate speak. Look it up.
If you are going to be an ***, just be one and be proud of it. I'd respect that much more than being someone who defends their insulting words by saying it's not a verbal attack.
Why am I trying to be rational with an irrational creature? That's where I consider myself to be wrong. Oh well...

At the time these verses were written, prostitutes often shaved their heads or wore braids, jewelry, and expensive clothes. So perhaps these admonitions were meant to warn women not to imitate the fashion styles of prostitutes, which is good advice even today.
Also, since "all scripture is God-breathed (inspired) and useful for teaching," we can learn from everything we read in the Bible. However, we should look at the context in which it was written, consider the original translations (when available), and focus on the most important, basic truths: that God created us, we turned away, and Christ paid the price for our sin to reconcile us to our creator if only we repent and follow him. Rules and commandments are important, but even Jesus said that above all, to love God and love others is the greatest commandment.

Jesus did not have long hair, as it was costom to have short hair for the jews, the people reconizedhim as a jew from his hair in the Bible, there is no other way they could have known as the culture were very similar otherwise. ART is to blame.
men and women wore similar clothing at that time and it would have been hard to tell them apart if they didn't have different hair
throughout the Bible God has different orders about how men should wear their beards, this shows that Gods expectations can change.
at that time braided hair and jewelry was considered a whorish thing like what a prostitute, God was ordering him to tell the church women to differentiate themselves from other people, like prostitutes, represent God with the way you dress, this can be applied today by telling the women of your church not to dress like prostitute would wear, like nix the vinyl shirts and fishnet stockings lol.
1co11:15 is very controversial, it can be translated different ways
so it's really hard to say,I know it's why Mennonites always wear the head coverings, it's supposed to be a sign of obedience to your husband, but if your husband is OK with you having short hair
then you can, it's to show his headship over you
and he is supposed have short hair to show his place.
it's supposed to differeciate men from women, because marriage is better that way, a husband and wife have different responsibilities.
also read it in context, it says for this is the custom
I think it also has to do with not being weird just to get attention so you don't ruin your chance to witness to someone.

1 Corinthians 11:14 could only mean that it is sometimes wrong for a man to have long hair. But when is it wrong? In verse 13, Paul tells us to "Judge for yourselves". 1 Corinthians 11:14 gives us all the information we need to judge for ourselves: "Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?" When is it wrong? It is wrong when nature - "social convention" - tells you it is shameful. It is wrong when the culture you are living in tells you it is wrong. In the Western world, long hair in men is perfectly acceptable - so Christian men in the West may of course have long hair. (I don't know enough about non-Western cultures to make any comments there, but the rule still applies: if society says long hair is OK, then it is OK for Christian men.)
The epistles in the New Testament were written, first and foremost, to groups of Christians in the first century. The instructions and advice that they contain were not always applicable to other groups of first century Christians, and they are not always applicable to us, living in the 21st century. We can't pluck one verse out of context - that is out of its literary context or out of its cultural context - and generalise to get a hard and fast rule to live by today.
Paul is not talking about how women should dress when they go grocery shopping. Second, that Paul addressed this epistle specifically to Timothy, not to us. We are reading this epistle, so to speak, over Timothy’s shoulders.
However, the situation wasn’t quite that extreme for Timothy. In those days, braids and jewelry were ostentatious, beauty-pageant type things. Paul’s concern was not about braids and jewelry, but about vanity and ostentatiousness. It’s important not to turn the worship service into a beauty pageant, because women would spend all their time competing and none of it worshiping. It can send the poor women home in tears and puff the rich women up with pride, and this is not supposed to be the outcome of Christian worship.

In order to even somewhat understand what these verses mean, you have to look at the context in which they are written.
The verses in 1 Cor. are talking about women praying. It is making some cultural references to hair and the way it was worn in those days.
The verse in Timothy is refering to a woman having her focus be on her inner, spiritual life rather than the external aspects. It isn't specifically forbiding these things, but encouraging a focus on the inner beauty that she can be developing.
Both passages are good to reflect on without forgetting that he was talking to people in a different culture.
