On Oahu, I stayed once at the Waikiki Beach Marriot Resort. There is also the Turtle Bay Resort (North Shore)

West Maui: endless beaches, sunsets that can make you cry, everything a vacation is supposed to be. You can pay more and get a few more bells and whistles, but this place linked below is a great balance and free breakfast which is nice..great views, whale shaped pool, clean comfy rooms...right on the beach

The Princess Hotel on Waikiki or the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki or if Military then Hale Koa... wonderful because and shopping district.. lots to do ad beautiful
