wiper seals are designed to exclude dirt and abrasive foreign material for protecting seals on hardware and pneumatic assemblies.
Contamination particles in the hydraulic system is the most common reason for breakdowns and short service life of seals. A major part of the particles reaches the system through the rod. The wiper seal's task is to prevent this.
The wiper seal is the most undervalued seal type in the hydraulic cylinder in relation to its important function. The choice of wiper seal should, however, be founded on as carefully drawn-up requirement specifications as the choice of piston and rod seals. The surrounding environment and service conditions must be taken into special consideration.
The wiper seal must be designed not only to fit the rod (dynamic function) but also to seal in the housing (static function).

Wiper seals are an important component in the protection of the sensitive parts of the hydraulic cylinders. GST Wiper Seals were produced with this need in mind.
Dust, sand particles or other foreign particles not only affect the sealing object in the hydraulic cylinders, but also damage the beds and the piston rods. Moreover, these foreign particles also gravely affect the pump and the control and adjustment mechanisms, causing
Malfunctions.
GST Wiper Seals were produced from a specially developed rubber type to perform the brushing affect. This material is extremely elastic and is very resistant to wear. Due to its composition, it is able to brush off the foreign particles after the cylinders' movement without affecting the lubricants film.
GST Wiper Seals are also produced from polyurethane and viton.
For all your hydraulic cylinder pistons sealings, you can purchase our GTS series from our stocks.

The Hunter Seal of Approval
Manufactured from the highest grade UV resistant materials, the Institutional Spray and Pro-Spray's® pressure activated, multi-function wiper seal is designed for long life under the toughest conditions. A zero flush seal ensures dependable operation without excessive "flow-by," allowing more sprinkler heads to be installed on the same zone. A unique pressure activated design grips the riser when operating and keeps debris from entering the seal when retracted. And, an additional riser seal support helps to ensure strength and reliable performance. Plus, each seal can be field-replaced without having to replace the body cap. Now that's a seal you'll approve of.

If the crack doesn't end at a fitting, drill a 1/8 inch hole at each end of the crack. That'll relieve the pressure & stop the crack from getting longer. Then use good 'ol JB weld. A used , or after market, tank may be a better fix.
