My husband wants to highlight it for a wedding where she will be a flower girl. I am not so sure. I can use a cap so it won't be painful, but still, i am not sure it is safe or appropriate. He surprised me when he asked me to do it, because he is muslim, and usually very particular about what goes on with her. He won't even let her wear those shirts that show the top part of her back, so this surprises me. any help? I would apprecieate it. thanx

I forgot to tell you, she has very dark brown almost black hair, and she is extremely mature, and well behaved.

I wouldnt say that is too young, but just be extra careful. use a dye and NOT a bleach. bleach is very damaging to the skin and even on adults it can be painful. She also may have very sensitive skin that will not react well with the chemicals. it is a MUST that you do a patch test 24 hours before you dying her hair to make sure she is not allergic. for this you will simply put a small amount of the product on the inside of his elbow 24 hours before you plan to dye. because she is so young i suggest you cover it up with a bandaid or something so she will not end up ingesting it or wiping it off. if she develops a rash then do NOT dye her hair at least until she is a little older. this should all be ok as long as you use extreme precaution. if in any doubt, call a stylist. i hope this helps.

Noway, she is too young to start tampering with her hair like that. I say a big fat NO. I suggest you take her to a hair dresser to get a special hair do. If she has long hair try french braids with beads and flowers. Short hair just go with a couple of pretty clips and flowers. I'm sure you can make the right decision, after all you are the child's mother. I am so suprised your husband would even suggest that for his six year old daughter.

NO NO NO she is too young. I am not just talking about how foolish it is to try this just for one day but the chemicals in the tinting can hurt her not only outside but inside. The stuff sinks into your skin and can cause internal problems. That is why they tell pregnant women not to color their hair at all. Please do not risk your young daughter's future health for the sake of some pictures you will hardly look at a month from now.

OK, OK, before you do ANYTHING, ask your daughter of what she wants. And if she says yes, use temporary highlights because its only for a wedding. But usually, it can be harmful for a young girl's hair and the skin of her head. Just be careful and think of what can happen for her future, or ask a doctor/salon person.

I am sure she's beautiful just the way she is. She's 6, not 16. He needs to let her be a child for as long as she can. I think it looks tacky when young kids have dyed hair, or makeup, anything like that. I wouldn't let my girls do it.

animal instincts semi everlasting hair dye is the desirable to me. No damage in any way and it takes a lengthy time period to go back out so that you're hair will pass back to standard at a good p.c... so a options as a thanks to practice your hair? continually wash your hair with cool water and stick to a mask. try ldl cholesterol or something with olive oil or avocado in it.

It's kind of risky since the danger of it getting in her eyes is so high. She's too little to understand. Depends on her maturity level I guess and whether or not you think she'll try to mess with it. I don't really think it's inappropriate ... but I wouldn't do it to mine. They grow up so quickly!!! :)

NO, she is too young and it will fry/ruin her hair at that age because there hair is not all the way matured. also her hair is not used to having so much going on.

try those wash out ones if u really must for the wedding...i think they are called semi-permanent. they wash out after 3-4 showers. but try to avoid the permanent stuff...they have acids that can ruin your kid's hair and skin for good, especially now that she still has beautiful natural oils in her hair, and those nasty adulthood puberty oils havent set in yet, argh
