i truly agree, the book of James talks about that a lot. You can say you follow Jesus, but if your actions dont, you really are not a follower.

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Matthew 7:21-23

many christians act like they are superior to everyone else, and rather than living a life of love, they live their live in arrogance

Hypocrisy is a major problem among Christians. However, it can never be an excuse not to believe in God. The fact that some of His people do not live up to what they say they believe has nothing to do with the fact that God is the Creator and Savior of mankind!

Yes i agree hypocrisy is a big problem in christianity. I tried christianity for a number of years, really hard, however the christians were just plain cruel. This lead me to dig deeper and i had more unanswered questions. The deeper i dug, the more questions i tried to ask, the more abuse i received. I have finally embarked on a completely different spiritual path and am not getting abused. I have scars, in a metamorphical sense, that i am going to be dealing with the rest of my life because of the actions of several christians.
Oh and the great thing about the path i am studying, no one is hostile or mean to me when i ask questions!

What is the hypocrisy of the individual when the entire religion appears to contradict itself on a regular basis? Christianity speaks of "God" as a being of mercy, but he also seems rather intolerant. You speak of salvation for all, but then state that all but the believers in this particular faith are damned to an eternity of torment. Somebody needs to mke up their minds. I cannot believe in something that has these gaping holes and glaring contradictions within itself. There is a great deal to be said for consistency.

Also, how can one logically argue for a single interpretation being correct when there are so many ways that one could "understand" something? Has anyone considered the idea that every possible interpretation of the scripture with which you are so enamored could be correct in itself? To my way of thinking, people should have the right to choose what is right for them...in every possible way. If parts of the Bible appeal to someone and they follow them faithfully, then that should be fine...no major problem there. It is when one states a solid belief in a form of morality or a code of behavior, only to contradict your own words with opposing actions...that is where the problem lies. It is a problem inherent in all life, not merely in the Christian religion...and it is as inevitable as the eventual death of one's physical body. When all is said and done, we are only human...true perfection of the sort you discuss is no more than an inachievable ideal. Do the best you can...and acknowledge that there is no such thing as infallibility. You who argue for this "hypocrisy" of Christians who speak of "God" yet "deny" him with their actions are no exception, so I suggest for your own sanity that you get off the moral high ground; you are no different than the rest of us.

Faith is how you treat a "god". Morality is how you treat people.

The two have nothing to do with each other, so it's not really hypocrisy. A "good christian" is a coincidence, not a redundancy that is violated.

The real problem, to word your concern differently, are the "liars for jeezus" who make the false claim that "to be religious is to be moral".

this is an engaging question to me. the folk from Puerto Rico are individuals and Spanish is the language use interior the country. In criminal words Spanish and English are the two first rate language yet many all and sundry isn't bilingual. whilst the u . s . take possession of the island in 1898 band the Spanish via fact the 1st rate language and the educational exchange to English. ultimately the Spanish prevails. If the u . s . enforce a regulation to make the English the 1st rate language, what they're going to do with Puerto Rico? many countries like Spain has an incredible variety of language (Basque, Castillian, Catalan, and so on) and each and all of the electorate are Spaniards.

Bad parenting, morals, responsibility, and personal opinions..
They tell themselves they believe in a god because they need some kind of outlet.
He's an imaginary friend that was already therewhen they were kids.
....
Either that or they're just telling people crap so they'll think that's what they believe.

You're absolutely right, but its not just believers who do that.

Next time tell us what you believe in so we can understand you and your ways. Maybe we will be enlightened.

Then again, the mire fact that you thought about answering that-telling us in what you believe in-says you believe in something.

Spend more time proving there is no God, giving supporting evidence, or even theories. But give us something to believe in. We all need to believe in something; yes, even you. You lie to yourself for some comfort, perhaps of your sins.
