A DV camcorder records digital video onto tape or MiniDV. A DVD camcorder records DIRECTLY onto a DVD.
a minidv camcorder is better as recording on dvd results in lower quality due to compresion of the video

Friend its really simple. A dv cam records the video on a magnetic tape, while a dvd cam records the video on a dvd. If u want to buy one I'll recommend an hdd camera, which records on hard drive. the dv camcorder use the tape or some of them use memory card or both tape and memory card..
the dvd camcorder use the dvd to record it...
now..the dvd is better with its quality and easy to use it.....
