I don't have a problem with it. It's none of my business what they do and it's not hurting me so why not....
Someone on here once said that gay people have the same right to be just as miserable as all the rest of the other married people...I thought that was funny.

What takes position in yet another's mattress room isn't my company. As if you're speaking about marriage being an organization in favor of saving... before each little thing, marriage as an organization hasn't been round that lengthy. The Church did not commence getting curious about marriages until eventually the darkish a lengthy time period (look it up). no longer that marriage did not exist earlier, yet human beings did not pass about registering themselves or something earlier that. The Catholic Church did not even outline marriage as being between a guy and a woman until eventually 1566 with the Council of Trent. If something, marriage has extra to concern from heterosexuals, because those are the persons who're getting divorced like this is going out of trend (gays genuinely have a extra efficient record with divorce). Marriage desires safe practices from hypocritical heterosexual divorcees, no longer from gay human beings (i'm immediately, so my each individual is to blame).

Yes, I do. I believe I live in a country where we are supposed to have equal rights no matter what our race, sexual preference, social standing, and moral ethics are. I also don't believe that allowing gay marriage would disentigrate the sanctions of marriage because we have already accomplished that. With the divorce rate at 60%, it's already in the toilet. I don't believe it is an issue for the government. It's an issue with your religion. The whole subject just pisses me off. The government sticks it's nose in where it doesn't belong. I say, if they love each other and want to get married, more power to them.

Marriage is a religious sacrament, like Baptism, Ordination, Confirmation, etc. As such, it is up to each church to decide for itself what its rules are for dispensing or denying the various sacraments, just as it makes its own rules on membership. Since I strongly support the principles of religious freedom, I am very much opposed to government interfering in these internal church matters.
That said, it seems to me a clear departure from this principle (no government interference in internal church matters) for the government to weigh in on one side or the other in the matter of civil union. Some churches will give their blessing to such unions, and some will denounce them. But do we want government stepping in and telling us that one church is correct and the other in error? Do we want to live under a government that claims to speak for God?
I grew up surrounded by "lapsed" Catholics -- Catholics who had divorced and remarried. Half the neighborhood felt strongly that "they aren't REALLY married, not in the eyes of God" , while the other half said "they're LEGALLY married and the priest can go **** himself". By age 7 I had an excellent understanding of the secular vs the sectarian.
I find it ingenuous to the point of incredibility that otherwise intelligent adults (including those in high political offices) profess to be blind to a distinction readily apparent to a child. Shame on these dishonest people for sowing intolerance and dissension in our nation!

no. i mean, what for? they can't procreate can they? if they really believe they love each other then they can live under one roof.if you grant them marriage for the reason that their consenting adults, what makes us sure that in the near future there's no smart liberal who'll suggest that we should marry the kids too. afterall, they're now smart enough and act like real adults? besides, they must not equate marriage with true love. they can experience love without getting married.marriage is an institution, an exclusive club for the union of the male and female species in the eyes of their gods.

it seems odd to me, i don't know if i understand how it can work. marriage is between a man and a woman, but there should be another term if you are gay since it is different. its not wrong for them to be together, but we don't use the term straight to describe them so their should be another term for that as well

I think you should get to date anyone who you choose.. But however if you choose to be gay live life to the extreme because, you only get one life so what you choose to do with this one is your business... What ever your faith is when it is your time to go you will get to experience your consequences...

I don't even see it as gay marriage, I see it as marriage. It's ridiculous that so many have a problem with it.
