why is it that my family just doesnt want to see each other well my mmom dosent go see her family because she says they talk so much crap and i realy would like to get closer to my family

You just have to get to know them without your mother involved. I had to do the same thing and I've never regretted it.

sadly, there is a such thing as a messy family, but if you want you can find other ways to get over there besides waitin for a ride from her, ask a cusin to scoop you up on the next gathering

i have a similiar problem, my parents don't talk to a few of their brothers and sisters because things that happened years ago. if you want to get to know your family better, just reach out to them. call, write or email them. maybe they want to get to know you better aswell and are not sure how to go about it. i'm sure if you sit your mum down and explain to her your desire to get to know your family she shouldnt have any objections, but keep in mind your mum has known them longer than you and perhaps she has a genuine reason for not keeping in contact, so be prepared for the possiblity they may not be as nice as you are hoping.

sometimes families get wrapped up in drama and cant be happy without it but if you can block it out and accept them for who they are without being pulled in then you couldget to know them on a different level. without family who do you really have?
