earth rotates on its axis because of the magnetic fiels of the earth . The magnetic effect is produced by the presence on molten magma inside the surface of the earth that is the core of earth and other parts, If this molten magma cool down then the magnetic field of earth reduces or become zero and earth will stop rotating on its axis.
